Why corporate governance?
Corporate governance, loosely defined, is the way in which an organization, be it a company, close corporation, bank, partnership or collective investment scheme is run. Corporate governance defines the interrelationships between the various interests represented in the organization and how these interrelationships can be properly managed for the well being of the organization. It has been noted that the practice of sound principles of corporate governance are the hallmarks of successful organizations. It is therefore important that organizations familiarize themselves with sound principles of corporate governance.
This program is specifically designed to meet the objective of carrying delegates through the concept of corporate governance, its evolution and rationale, the principles of corporate governance involved, corporate governance and the law, the King Reports on corporate governance and how best organizations can implement the principles of corporate governance.
