CORPORATE GOVERVANCE FOR NON PROFIT ORGANISATIONS
Why corporate governance non profit organizations?
A nonprofit organization with a sound management structure is better able to realize its vision, mission, objectives and goals than one with weak systems and institutions of governance. The existence of these qualities in an organization helps it build organizational competence, sustainable provision of services and establishment of legitimacy, credibility and integrity in the eyes of various stakeholders, in particular donors, the government, communities and beneficiaries. Since NPOs do not in most cases generate funds for themselves, consistent and loyal support from donors and well wishers is required and this is achieved by giving assurance to the public and donors that the management and use of the funds is being done in a responsible, transparent, accountable and professional manner and is in line with the stated objectives of the organization.
This program is specifically designed to meet the objective of carrying delegates through the concept of corporate governance, its evolution and rationale, the principles of corporate governance involved, corporate governance and the law, the King Reports on corporate governance and how best non profit organizations can implement the principles of corporate governance.
